The nearest towns are Port Macquarie and Wauchope (approx. 10 mins drive). Staying overnight? Acccomodation options are numerous in both Port Macquarie on the coast, and inland at Wauchope.

Visitor accessibility

At Guulabaa, we are committed to continual improvement in accessibility for forest visitors within the natural forested landscape, to create an inclusive visitor community.

Being located within Cowarra State Forest, we adhere to the same aims as our land manager, Forestry Corporation of NSW.

Koala Conservation Australia

Carpark

Our carpark offers level access to our sealed footpath onto the site. The road into Guulabaa is sealed, as is the carparking area. Coach parking is available. Should Guulabaa be busy, there is an overflow carpark located opposite the main gate (on Guulabaa Way).

THE HUB

The Hub is a series of 4 decks connecting all our visitor experiences. The Hub is accessible from the sealed/concrete pathway along the roadside directly from the carpark, or via wide steps. The four decks comprising The Hub,  and their connecting ‘bridges’, are level and accessible (no stairs). The land gently slopes away underneath The Hub, leaving visitors high in the trees by Decks 3 & 4.

Koala Facility

Koala Conservation Australia’s Wild Koala Breeding facility has level access from The Hub deck and has been designed to ensure inclusive wheelchair access and easy stroller mobility for our visitors.

Walking tracks

Whilst our walking tracks are unsealed, they are easy grade, short tracks. Visitors are encouraged to wear covered footwear and be mindful that they are in a natural environment. Consider packing insect repellant and sunscreen. Visitors will find special places along our walking tracks including bush log seating, footbridges and a sand-based Cultural performance space.

TOilets

Our toilets are accessed via a sealed footpath from our carpark, opposite The Hub. There is one accessible toilet (wider structure) for those with mobility aids, wheelchairs, prams etc. Please note our toilets are standard non-flush systems, the same as those found in all NSW State Forests. Nappies and other non-organic waste should be taken home with you.

Tread lightly & reduce your forest footprint

We hope you are enjoying your visit to this beautiful NSW State Forest. Please help us protect and sustain the forest environment for future generations. Check out these tips on how to 'tread lightly' in your State Forests.

Dogs are welcome in State Forests. Please keep your pets under control and make sure you clean up after them.

Please leave picnic areas tidy. If there are garbage bins, please use them. If not, please take your rubbish home with you. Sometimes wild animals or birds can open bins and spread rubbish, so we love it when you take it with you!

Keep your noise from activities to a reasonable level so that everyone can enjoy their visit. Especially our resident koalas.

All wildlife, plants and animals are protected in our forests. Please don’t feed the animals or birds, no matter how persistent they are.
